Justin Nelson, Senior Managing Director, joined Walker & Dunlop in 2012 and is responsible for financing income-producing properties including office, apartment, hospitality, industrial and retail nationwide.

Since joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Nelson has provided financing for an impressive list of institutional clients that includes some of the largest private equity and pension funds in the US. Mr. Nelson has established himself as a trusted real estate expert; advising clients and capitalizing transactions to fit a variety of business plans. Mr. Nelson’s deep knowledge of the capital markets is evidenced by over 400 closed transactions with nearly 100 unique capital sources and transactions ranging from $2 million to over $1 billion.

Mr. Nelson graduated with high honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Graaskamp Center for Real Estate with a B.B.A. in real estate and urban land economics and began his career as a development associate for Gorman & Company, Inc. based out of Madison, Wisconsin where he placed and structured Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) for the development of affordable multifamily housing across the Midwest.

Beyond the company, Mr. Nelson is an active member in several industry organizations including the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), NAIOP, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Mr. Nelson is also involved in multiple philanthropic community organizations including the Lighthouse Youth Center, Christ Body Ministries, and Food Pantry of the Rockies.
