Each year, the Commercial Real Estate Summit recognizes the outstanding men and women of our community who have made an impact on the commercial real estate industry as well as the most influential deals and developments that have helped transform our community.
HALL OF FAME WINNERS
Bennett focuses on increasing value for CBRE clients by connecting professionals, technology tools and other resources to help companies execute real estate strategies that best deliver on their overall business objectives. Bennett brings over 35 years of experience to the table in the industry.
Bennett’s knowledge of the industry, enthusiasm for the community, and ability to garner the trust and respect of those around him proves why CBRE represents the region’s most respected and successful companies.
In 2000, Bennett was an integral part and oversaw the initiation of the strategic affiliate alliance with CBRE, Inc. This aligned CBRE|MEGA with the largest and most respected full service commercial real estate company in the world.
Bennett continues to provide direction for the success of CBRE through proven leadership. CBRE has been involved with some of Omaha’s most distinguished projects including: TD Ameritrade World Headquarters, Gavilon Trading Headquarters in downtown Omaha, Oriental Trading Company’s state of the art distribution center, and numerous other developments in the Omaha metropolitan area. Bennett’s passion for the community stems from his commitment to Omaha.
After a long history of partnership between CBRE/MEGA and CBRE, CBRE agreed to purchase CBRE/MEGA in July of 2019. Today, CBRE is the only corporate commercial real estate service company in the Omaha area. Through the merger, CBRE has increased its market share in brokerage, project management and valuation. CBRE continues to provide us with numerous state of the art tools to better serve our clients.
Starting a business as a teenager with one lawnmower and enough determination for a dozen men, John Lee Hoich built a career that made him a millionaire by the time he was 30 years old. John gives his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ thanks every day for his divine success in everything he has accomplished.
His Business have ranged from grounds, landscaping, irrigation systems for nationwide military contracts, Farms, land development and ownership of a hotel, office buildings, industrial buildings, apartment complexes, shopping centers, assisted living facilities, a 9-hole golf course and numerous strategic business investments of his own and with partnerships, Co-owner of 1954 Military homes at Offutt Airforce Base.
John's current developments in progress are a 178-unit apartment complex in Norfolk NE, and developing 47,000 sq ft office building in Council Bluffs at The Charles E Lakin Campus.
John is a public speaker with a compelling rags to riches story. In his book From The Ground Up, he details his entrepreneurial career, his thoughts, lessons he has learned and his formula for success.
His greatest accomplishment is being a Father to his twin sons, Jeremy and Justin, 26 years old.
John Hughes is a Principal of MAg Partners and President and Principal of Magnum Development Corp. John has 30 years of experience in real estate development leadership including ventures in Retail; Corporate Office; Entertainment; Hotel; Medical; Fitness and Health; Light Industrial and Residential. John focuses his efforts on securing new opportunities, arranging the equity capital for various ventures, and managing partnerships to achieve desired outcomes. John oversees 20+ partnerships including real estate ventures, food and beverage enterprises and retail businesses. John received his BA in Philosophy from Colorado State University.
A 35+ year commercial real estate veteran, Nancy is the President & CEO of NK Johnson Commercial Real Estate Advisors. In addition to her brokerage business Nancy also consults for major real estate investment firms.
Ethically rooted and industry respected, Nancy represents clients in multiple asset classes such as investment sales, land acquisition, multi-family, office, industrial and retail sales and leasing. With a large network of connections and an industry expert, Nancy serves her clients and colleagues ferociously.
Nancy stepped into commercial real estate in the late 1980s when young women were a scarcity in the industry. She started her career with The Lund Company, where she hit the ground running working on any deals, she could get her hands on. After 16 years she joined CBRE where she worked with regional and national clients.
In 2019, Nancy founded her own firm where she enjoys putting deals together as well as capital consulting for major firms.
Nancy serves on numerous philanthropic, industry-specific and community boards. A believer in paying it forward, Nancy is passionate about mentoring young woman entering the commercial real estate world.
Besides mentoring, Nancy enjoys golf, yoga, and travel.
